There is a new blog on the scene, by local resident Laurel Ann Nattress. She describes the blog Austenprose as "[a] daily celebration of the brilliance of Jane Austen's writing". Please support you local blogger by visiting today, and every day! High School Essay Contest
The winners of the essay contest sponsored by the chapter and KCTS Channel 9 Public Television on the subject "What Does Jane Austen's Writing Mean To Me?" have been announced. Please click here for the names of the successful entrants and to read the winning essays. Discussion Forum Temporarily Offline
The developers of the discussion forum software we used have discovered a security vulnerability which could allow attackers to gain control of the web site, so I have temporarily disabled the forums until the problem is fixed. Apologies for the inconvenience. About the Chapter
The Puget Sound Chapter of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) is located in the Puget Sound region of Western Washington. We are a very active chapter, and meet six times each year at various locations to hear a program, to engage in polite conversation and partake of afternoon tea. Naturally, the subject of the meetings is always related to the life, times and works of Jane Austen. Please click on the links on the left side of this page to learn more about who we are and what we offer. You can return to this page from anywhere in this site by clicking on the silhouette at the top left-hand corner of any page. Alternatively, you can download a one-page flyer describing our society in more detail: it is available in PDF format. Application forms for membership are also available in PDF format.
