Jane Austen Essay Competition

To foster the study and appreciation of Jane Austen, the Jane Austen Society of Puget Sound regional organization is conducting an essay contest for high school and university students. The regional members who love and enjoy Jane Austen’s books are the audience for the essays. We want to know what the high school and higher level student finds compelling about Jane Austen’s writings. We are looking for original insights, captivating writing, a genuine voice and an essay of clear and correct writing. You can find further details on this page.

About Our Region

The Puget Sound Region of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) is located in the Puget Sound region of Western Washington.

We are a very active region, and meet six times each year at various locations to hear a program, to engage in polite conversation and partake of afternoon tea. Naturally, the subject of the meetings is always related to the life, times and works of Jane Austen.

Please click on the links on the left side of this page to learn more about who we are and what we offer.
